In early Sep. 2010, Dunham-Bush Inc. became a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for the USA through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.

USGBC works toward its mission of market transformation through its LEED green building certification program, robust educational offerings, a nationwide network of chapters and affiliates, the annual Green Building International Conference & Expo, and advocacy in support of public policy that encourages and enables green buildings and communities. Dunham-Bush will take active part in supporting the programs and activities from USGBC.

Buildings in the United States are responsible for 39% of CO₂ emissions, 40% of energy consumption, 13% water consumption and 15% of GDP per year, making green building a source of significant economic and environmental opportunity. Greater building efficiency can meet 85% of future U.S. demand for energy, and a national commitment to green building has the potential to generate 2.5 million American jobs.

Dunham-Bush is striving to be on the leading edge of providing green solutions throughout its global distribution network. We strongly believe that our green solutions engineering and participation in USGBC will contribute to the carbon footprint reduction of our projects in industrial and commercial buildings in the United States and throughout the world.
