Kajang, 19th July 2010: Dunham‐Bush Holding Bhd (“Dunham‐Bush” or the “Company”), one of the world’s top commercial air conditioning equipment manufacturers, announces it’s new range of R410A products consisting of ACDS Air Cooled Scroll Chillers and ACPS Commercial Rooftop Units.

The 1987 Montreal protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer has capped the production of the HCFC R22 refrigerant in the developed countries. R22 is still in use in developing countries for HVAC production and maintenance, however the complete R22 production phase out is planned worldwide for 2030.

Today US manufacturers are no longer allowed to produce or import equipment using new or non‐recycled R‐22. Only equipment working with chlorine free HFC`s like R‐410A (or another alternative) can be imported and manufactured , reparations on existing equipment must be carried out with recycled R22 .

The R410A refrigerant with zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and low GWP (Global Warming Potential) has a higher cooling capacity compared to R22 and has better thermal exchange properties. This results in less refrigerant necessary in every system and increased efficiency. Currently R‐410A is one of the best alternatives for R22.

Watching the global trend moving towards this new generation of refrigerants coupled with our long term green solutions strategy, Dunham‐Bush has developed a new range of R410A products to meet the global market requirements and US capacity ratings and safety standards. We have successfully developed for the US market a new range of ACDS Air Cooled Scroll Chillers with cooling capacity ranging from 10 to 180 Tons Refrigeration and the ACPS Commercial Rooftop Units with capacity range from 5.5 to 29.3 Tons Refrigeration.

Both of these product families are excellent choices for applications in supermarkets, hotels, offices, schools, restaurants, factories etc.

Dunham‐Bush will be continuing to develop advanced HVAC technologies using environmentally sound refrigerants integrated with our innovative green solutions to serve the global heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration market.
