Fairfield School, Fairfield, MT
The Fairfield
School is one of the largest in Montana's farm country. In a place where
the prime crop is providing barley to Anheiser-Busch, the primarily
one-story 88,000 square feet building housing almost 2,000 students
covering grades K-12. The school is located in Fairfield, MT just 42 miles
from Great Falls and the offices of Dunham-Bush representatives The
Patterson Company.
The school was
first built in 1939 heated by boilers. In 1956, there was a major
expansion to add classrooms for the Elementary school. While other
additions occurred in 1960 and 1992, the school had heating but no source
at all of mechanical ventilation.
When the school recently launched a 2003 renovation and addition
project, they included the replacement of the old firetube boilers and the
addition o f three rooftops to provide much needed ventilation.
With project
engineer L'Heureux, Page, Werner PC naming Dunham-Bush as an "an equal" in
their specification, Steve Patterson jumped in with a very complete bid
that included everything from the rooftops to the grills.
Using this
all-inclusive bidding technique successfully, The Patterson Company joined
forces with low bidder mechanical contractor Central Plumbing and Heating
who won the job with the general contractor by providing the best overall
packaged price over the competition. Working with Central Plumbing and
Heating's Ted Corn , The Patterson Company placed a n order for three
Dunham-Bush Roof Top Units - (2) RT 33's and (1) RT 18.
To meet the delivery requirement, the units were shipped from
Dunham-Bush's Malaysian production less motors. To everyone's delight, the
units arrived just in time to coincide with the crane required to lift the
units to their new rooftop homes. Upon their arrival the contractor
commented on the exceptional fit and finish of the units. "They looked
great...extremely well put-together. We were pleased that they had come
from so far away with no major damage," said the contractor.
Thanks to entire
staff of The Patterson Company, Dunham-Bush enjoys a fine reputation for
quality and performance in Montana. A reputation that will only be
enhanced by this latest generation of Dunham-Bush equipment.
