RefrigerantDunham-Bush has used refrigerant HCFC-22 exclusively in its equipment since the late 1970s. HCFC-22 is an extremely safe, proven and effective refrigerant that is available to the year 2020. To supplement this refrigerant offering, Dunham-Bush has sought a long-term solution using HFC refrigerants. Through exhaustive research and testing, the company has found what it believes to be the ideal match of oils and refrigerants to offer its customers an HFC refrigerant option providing about the same capacities and performance as HCFC-22, without any painstaking equipment changes. The company now has available rotary screw and scroll package chillers,
both air and water cooled, using non-ozone-depleting HFC refrigerants
R-407C and R-134a. Using these refrigerants with specially formulated
Karlube⢠oils, the company can provide a long-term solution for air
conditioning needs for commercial, institutional and industrial
applications. HCFC-22, a true bridge refrigerant, is effective today.
Dunham-Bush is now in an active testing mode to ensure the company can
easily retrofit its equipment using HCFC-22 to operate with new
refrigerants and oils without much effort, without equipment changes, and
at an extremely reasonable cost. Overview of New ASHRAE 90.1-1999 Energy Standard and Dunham-Bush Products | ||||
